Frequently asked questions
What is My Knitting Journal?
My Knitting Journal is a free online knitting tracker. It lets you count rows, manage your yarn stash, track projects and plan colour palettes — all in one place, in your browser. No app download needed.
Can I track my yarn stash for free?
Yes — the yarn stash is completely free with a free account. Add yarn by brand, colour and weight, track how many balls you have, and link yarn directly to your knitting projects.
Is there a free knitting row counter for my phone?
Yes — My Knitting Journal includes a free row counter that works on any phone or tablet, no download required. Open yourknittingjournal.com in your browser and start counting immediately. With a free account you save counters per project and continue on any device.
Is this website linked to the physical book?
Yes — My Knitting Journal is the free digital companion to the physical knitting journal (2nd edition, 2026). The book is for writing; the website is for counting, organising and discovering. You can use the website without the book, and the book without the website.
How do I get Pro access?
Two ways: via Ko-fi (€5 for one year) or with the book code on the inside cover of the physical journal. Both give you one year of Pro access.
What happens when my Pro year expires?
Your account and all your data stay intact. You just lose access to the Pro tools. Your projects, yarn stash and wish list remain fully accessible.
Is my data safe?
We only store what you enter yourself. We use no tracking cookies, no advertising and no external analytics. Your profile can be set to private at any time.
Can I use the website on my phone?
Yes, the entire website works on mobile. The Doodle Studio has a separate mobile editor that's optimised for touch.
I have a question or found a bug — where do I go?
Send us an email at info@yourknittingjournal.com. We read everything and usually respond within a few days.
