We made the Knitting Journal because we missed it ourselves. This is our story.
For years, we kept our knitting notes in ordinary notebooks — scattered scribbles of row counts, yarn details and half-finished ideas. Nothing quite worked the way we wanted. So we made something ourselves.
The Knitting Journal began as a personal project: a thoughtfully designed physical journal that gives every knitting project the space it deserves. A place to note down your yarn, your gauge, your progress — and the story behind the project.
The second edition arrived in 2026, and with it came something new: a free digital companion. Because some things are better counted digitally. The row counter, the pattern tracker, the Wool World map — these grew naturally out of what we missed while using the paper version.
We never set out to build a platform. We just wanted something that worked the way we think. Apparently, other knitters felt the same way.

I am the reason this journal exists in its current form. I've been knitting for as long as I can remember, and I know what a knitter needs in a project journal — because I've tried every alternative. The Knitting Journal is what I would have wanted from the start.
